The days of the week in Manx
In Manx, the names of the days all begin with Je-, which comes from the word for day (similar to Irish Dé).
- Jelune = Monday
- Jemayrt = Tuesday
- Jecrean = Wednesday
- Jerdein = Thursday
- Jeheiney = Friday
- Jesarn = Saturday
- Jedoonee = Sunday
Some other common time expressions are:
- jiu = today
- jea = yesterday
- mairagh = tomorrow
Example: Jiu t’eh Jeheiney – Today is Friday.
