How to say yes or no in Manx

Introduction in Manx (Gaelg)

How to say yes or no in Manx

Dys means to (a place). In the examples, you can see again that Manx doesn’t have separate words for yes or no. A question like “Vel oo goll…?” (Are you going?) is answered with Ta (I am – yes) or Cha nel (I am not – no).

The word whooinney is used here as a casual way of addressing someone. It literally means man, but in context it’s closer to mate or buddy – somewhat like saying yessir in English.
