Dys means to (a place). In the examples, you can see again that Manx doesn’t have separate words for yes or no. A question like “Vel oo goll…?” (Are you going?) is answered with Ta (I am – yes) or Cha nel (I am not – no).
The word whooinney is used here as a casual way of addressing someone. It literally means man, but in context it’s closer to mate or buddy – somewhat like saying yessir in English.
