Verb - Subject - Object structure in Manx

Verb - Subject - Object

In Manx, sentences often start with the verb, followed by the subject and then the object. This is known as the VSO pattern (Verb - Subject - Object).

So instead of saying “I am fine,” the literal order is: “Am I fine.”

Examples:

  • Ta mee braew = I am fine
  • Cha nel eh ayn = He is not here
  • Vel shiu mie? = Are you well?
