Present tense conjugation of sapere (to know) + difference between sapere and conoscere
There are two verbs for 'to know' in Italian (sapere and conoscere), but they are used differently. The simplest way to put it, is that sapere applies to factual knowledge. That's when you know something because you've learnt it. So basically: knowing a fact, an event, or a piece of information. For example: knowing how to cook a dish or knowing that your friend had a baby.
