Introducing friends in Dutch

Introducing your friends is a common interaction. Officially you would have to say something along the lines of "Maak kennis met mijn vriend Bart" (Meet my friend Bart), but in practice you'd rather say "Dit is Bart" (This is Bart) instead. The next step is probably shaking hands and the other person simply saying their name. It's not that complicated, it's actually just like it would happen in English.
